Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy

The Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy celebrates the life and legacy of one of America's greatest comedians. This 3,500 square foot, fully interactive museum looks at the comedy through the lens of Red Skelton. The Museum opened on July 18, 2013 and focuses on Red's life and the many characters, such as Freddie the Freeloader and Clem Kadiddlehopper, whom he brought to life through his radio and television shows. Celebrate that special occasion with a "Red" gift! The Red Skelton Museum Gift Shop offers unique items including "Red" DVDs, signed and numbered acrylic reproductions of Red Skelton's paintings, logo t-shirts and more! The Museum is attached to the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center featuring an 800-plus seat European opera-style theater. "The Red" is located on the campus of Vincennes University just one block from Red Skelton's birthplace. *The museum and the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center are located in the same building just off Second Street (north edge of V.U. Campus).
