The Red Skelton Festival kicked off on Thursday with a 725 cupcake mural of Red himself.  Individuals who attended celebrated their birthdays surrounded by clowns, cupcakes and punch at the World’s Largest Birthday Party.  The clowns from VU’s clown college entertained the crowd with face painting, magic and balloon characters.  The festival continues on Friday with the Fresh Air Flick featuring Red Skelton in “Southern Yankee”.  On Saturday the “Paint the Town Red Festival” begins at 9am and continues until 4pm.  The parade of 1000 clowns begins at 11am.  For a complete list of events check out our calendar of events.
