Entertainment with a Cause…

The Old Northwest Territory Chapter of the American Red Cross is hosting a murder mystery dinner theatre next Friday March 5.  The original script, ‘Till Death Do Us Part,” was written by Sherbet Productions of Chicago.  The play will be preformed by actors of Sherbet Productions in addition to local talent from Vincennes, Indiana and Lawrenceville, Illinois. 

The event will be held at the Green Activities Center on the campus of Vincennes University.  Doors open at 6pm with dinner served at 7pm.  Tickets are $42 per person and are a donation to the disaster relief services the Red Cross provides.  Advance reservations are required, tickets can be purchased by calling 812.882.2204, no tickets will be sold at the door.  Plan to attend this entertaining evening and help solve the mystery.

Clark’s March…

The last 4.5 miles of George Rogers Clark and his small army’s route into Vincennes will be retraced this Saturday February 20th at 9:30 am EST.    Join the walking tour of “Clark’s March” with interpretation by chief park ranger Frank Doughman.  The march moves at an easy pace and makes several stops along the route for interpretation significance to George Rogers Clark’s campaign.  Transportation from the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park to the start of the route will leave at 10:00 am.  Period clothing is encouraged but not required and modern footwear is acceptable.  For more information cintact Frank Doughman at 812.882.1776. ext 204.

2 Great Music Events, 1 Location

Vincennes is the place to be this weekend!  The 4th annual Festival du Mardi Gras will take place at the Fortnightly Club Saturday February 13 beginning at 4pm.  This events features Music, Dance and Food.  Traditional cajan music will be provided by Dennis Stroughmatt and L’Esprit Creole and Paul Gregoire and Roux du Bayou.   For more information or to purchase tickets contact the CVB office at 812-886-0400. 

The 10 annual Old Post Bluegrass Jam will kick off at 10am on Sunday February 14 at the Beckes Student Union on the Vincennes University Campus.  Free admission and parking.  Open music jam sessions are open to the public and musicians, acoustic instruments only.  Scheduled performances begin at 1pm and run until 5pm.  For more information contact Bill Stedman after 5pm 812-882-0426.

Come One, Come All to the First Friday Event!

The Blue Moon Art Gallery and Studios and the Old Northwest Territory Art Gallery are hosting a First Friday event this Friday February 5, 2010 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.  Both galleries are located downtown on Main Street and feature works of local artist and craftsmen ranging from paintings, sculptures, textiles and jewelry.  Many itemsare available for sale.  Refreshments will be served.
