Peter Toth’s sculpture of Shawnee leader Tecumseh is standing tall along the Wabash River.  In the years 1810-1811, Tecumseh defended the rights of his followers in Vincennes during his meetings with William Henry Harrison, Governor of the Indiana Territory.  

Donations are still being sought to erect a fence around the sculpture.  In order to insure that the sculpture remains in good condition a fence is necessary.  To make a tax deductable donation to the Tecumseh Project contact the Vincennes/Knox County CVB at 812.886.0400.

Two day buttons for the Rendezvous are now available at the CVB office, 779 South 6th Street.  Buttons are $7 each and admit one adult both days.  We accept cash and local checks only please.  Purchase your button now in order to save money!  Saving money on admission leaves you more money to purchase yummy food at the event.

The Farmers Market is set to open the first weekend in June and will offer evening hours on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00pm.  Food vendors and entertainment will be featured on Wednesdays in addition to the fabulous selection of produce.  Saturday hours will remain the same, 8:00am-1:00pm.  The market is held in the new Riverfront Pavilion located on the corner of 2nd and Busseron Streets.  Plan to buy to buy local and save.

The Knox County Community Foundation is hosting a sectional tourney “Knox County Alumni Basketball” next Saturday April 10th at Lincoln High School Alice Arena.  All players and cheerleaders graduated at least 10 years ago.  To see the team roosters or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.knoxcountyfoundation.org .
