The June “Fresh Air Flick” begins at dusk at Patrick Henry Square (downtown Vincennes) on Friday, June 25. The family classic, “The Wizard of Oz” will be presented weather permitting (rain date is the following Friday). Refreshments will be served at a minimal cost. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the movie under the stars presented by Avenue Broadband in cooperation with the Vincennes Central Business District. Future “fresh air flick” presentations are as follows: “The Goonies”, July 23; “Cars”, August 27; “Blind Side”, September 17 and “How to Train Your Dragon”, October 22.

The Melon Patch is located on highway 41 north of Vincennes. Shop the fabulous gift shop, fill up with gas, and have lunch! They are now offering fresh produce including watermelons, tomatoes and cucumbers. The patch also has homemade fresh fudge! The Delish Deli is open daily serving fresh made sandwiches and salads. 4 Days of Fun in “Red”
The Red Skelton Festival kicked off last night with the Hobo Stew night. The World’s Biggest Birthday Party hosted by Old National Bank will begin this evening at 5pm in the Riverfront Pavilion. The party features a carnival theme complete with clowns and face painting. Everyone is invited to celebrate their 2010 birthday! Friday night at 7pm will be a clown pie fight on the lawn of the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. The public is invited to participate. Saturday is jam packed with fun! The downtown festival begins at 9am and continues throughout the day until 4pm. The Parade of 1000 Clowns steps off at 11am and a REAL clown wedding will be conducted on the stage at Patrick Henry Square after the parade. The Clown Follies variety show is the only fundraising event of the weekend and it will begin at 6pm on Saturday night at 6pm. For ticket information contact the RSPAC box office at 812.888.4039. Vincennes Historic Farmers Market opens this Saturday in the new Riverfront Pavilion. The market features locally grown produce and plants. Locally produced breads, jams and jellies are also available. New this year is a General Store. Saturday hours are 8am-1pm and new Wednesday evening hours are 4pm-8pm. Food vendors, cooking demonstrations, and entertainment can be found too. Plan to attend the grand opening Saturday!
