This weekend’s events are all about the animals at the Vincennes Animal Shelter. The 3rd Annual Mayors “Hogs for Dogs” ride will take place on Saturday October 2nd at 1pm beginning at City Hall, 201 Vigo Street. The Dogtoberfest begins at 4pm in the Riverfront Pavilion and features Bad Medicine, the Coatneys, Tim and the Tomcats and more!!! Pet food donations are appreciated! Artsy Prints Now Available!!!
Prints by artist Patrick Reid O’Brien are now available at the CVB. These colorful prints of the Lincoln Memorial Bridge, Old Cathedral, George Rogers Clark Memorial and Grouseland are $20 each or $75 for the set of four. The prints are 11 by 14 inches and can be framed in a standard frame of that size. These prints would make great Christmas gifts!
Tecumseh prints are still available and have been reduced in price to $50 each.
Listen to the Buzz of the Chainsaws…….
The sawdust will be flying this weekend at the Knox County Fairgrounds during the 2nd Chainsaw Carving Festival. This year’s event features 40 carvers from across the US, Canada and one carver all the way from England. Come out and view the carvers in action Thursday 1:00-6:00pm, Friday and Saturday 9:00am-6:00pm. Admission is free. Food venders are open during these hours. The grand finale of the event is the carver’s auction on Saturday at 1:00pm. The auction will feature work from carvers present at the event. Chainsaw carving is an art that is sure to strike your interest.
