The Vincennes State Historic Sites, 1 W. Harrison Street, Vincennes has recently opened the Maurice Thompson Gift Shop.  Territorial era items for sale include loose teas named after Vincennes/Knox County historical figures such as Tecumseh, Elihu Stout and Lydia Bacon.  Three books by local historian, Richard Day are for sale and other books include the “Biography of John Small” (Knox County’s first sheriff), reference books on Native Americans and of course Maurice Thompson’s classic, “Alice of Old Vincennes”.  Clay City Pottery items, jams and jellies and replica toys and other unique items complete the charming Gift Shop.  The Shop’s hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Saturday and can be reached at 812.882.7422.
