Kick off the Holiday Season this Weekend

Main Street and downtown business windows have been decked for the season in preparation of the Christmas Stroll!  Plan to attend the “Parade of Lights” on Friday night at 6:30pm.  The parade most anticipated entry is Santa himself!  Directly after the parade children can visit with him and have their photo taken at Thursday Church. Downtown merchants will stay open late so you can shop your Christmas list while enjoying refreshments.

On Saturday, have “Breakfast with Santa” at the Old Cathedral Parish Center from 8am to 11am.  Santa will be available to hear the children’s Christmas wish list and for photos.  Bundle up and take a carriage ride with Santa, board at 5th & Main Streets, from 11am to 2pm.  Participating Main Street merchants are offering the annual “Recipe Walk”, visit their store to sample their favorite recipe and pick up the recipe card.

  1. When are the carriage rides happening for the holidays?

  2. Hi Abby, Sorry for the delay in responding. I don’t know of any carriage rides for the rest of the season. Grouseland has them annually at their Christmas event the first Friday of December. The Saturday of Christmas Stroll almost always has carriage rides down Main Street during the day. I know this doesn’t help this year but wanted to share for next year. Thanks!
