Places to Cool Off

Indiana weather is at it again, this time bringing us a heat wave. If you’re looking for a cold treat or somewhere to cool down, Vincennes/Knox County has plenty of options for you! Here’s a list of some places to go if you’re looking for something cold this summer.

Grab some frozen yogurt at Vincennes’ newest locally owned business: Swirls! They have over 15 different flavors of frozen yogurt and 38 toppings to choose from. A visit to Swirls and you’ll leave refreshed and satisfied.

Stop by Windy Knoll Winery for one of their famous wine slushies! They use a neutral base for all their slushies, so you can enjoy whichever flavor strikes your fancy when you’re at the winery.

Rainbow Beach Family Aquatic Center is sure to help you cool down on a hot summer day. They offer “Tot Time” for children five and under, as well as both open swim and lap swim. With attractions like “Misty Bay Spray Park” and the “Kid’s Cove Activity Pool”, Rainbow Beach is sure to help you make a splash!

Who says you can’t drink coffee in the summer? I’Mpressed Coffee has a menu packed full of cold, delicious drinks that are certain to satisfy your coffee craving. They offer coffee and non-coffee infused drinks. We recommend the iced caramel macchiato.

Head over to the Knox County Public Library for a quiet, cool location to take a breather. Bring the kids and check out the Youth Department to get them signed up for the Teen Summer Reading Program!
