Welcome to Indiana’s Territorial Past, located in Vincennes and Knox County.

Indiana’s first city is the perfect getaway for history enthusiasts.

Camping: The Ultimate Staycation

If you’re anything like us, summer is our busiest season of the year. Between running the kids where they need to go and working that daily 8-5 job, it can be difficult, not to mention expensive, to try and plan a vacation away from home. Luckily, Vincennes/Knox County has plenty of great campgrounds available to help you have the perfect weekend getaway, without having to travel too far.

Camping is good for the mind, body, and soul. It is important for you to spend some time in the great outdoors and soak up some Vitamin D, something you might not get a lot of if you spend most of your time indoors. Camping can help you sleep and also help you disconnect from your devices for a day or two.

Some features that our campgrounds offer are:

Fishing
Camp Arthur and New Vision RV Park both have stocked fishing lakes available. Camp Arthur offers boat rentals including paddle boats, as well as rowboats and canoes. New Vision has its’ own bait, tackle and gift shop on site for your convenience.

Stay Local
All three of our campgrounds are located within at least 20 miles of Vincennes, making any one of these locations the perfect place for a “staycation”.

Family Friendly
Camping is something fun to do with the entire family. All three of our campgrounds are family friendly, all having their own special attractions and events. Camp Arthur has activities such as paintball/airsoft and walking trails. Ouabache (Wabash) Trails has multiple shelter houses available to rent for birthday parties or family reunions, as well a nice picnic area. New Vision also offers picnic tables throughout the campgrounds.

Tent Sites
Ouabache (Wabash) Trails Park offers 35 electric sites, along with nine tent sites. New Vision also has tents and tables available on location.

Walking Trails
If you’re not looking to spend a whole weekend camping, but want to get outside and do some exploring, these campgrounds are still ideal for you. All of these campgrounds consist of large acre areas that are perfect for hiking.

The Vincennes/Knox County campgrounds each offer their own unique experience for people of all ages. We hope you enjoy your staycation and return home a happy camper!
