"A Salute to the Veterans of World War II" (Living History Event)

When: 9/12/2009 to 9/13/2009 10:00AM to 4:00PM

The second annual living history event, "A Salute to the Veterans of World War II", will be held on Saturday, September 12 from 10am - 5pm and Sunday, September 13 from 10am - 4pm at the Indiana Military Museum, 2704 N. Old Bruceville Road. (This event was only a one-day event last year, but had such a great response that it became a 2-day event this year!) Enjoy fabulous WWII military displays including re-enactors from throughout the region, encampments, tanks, artillery, aircraft and a complete WWII field kitchen serving the troops. Vendors present will include a dog tag maker and dealers in World War II military re-enactment uniforms and equipment. The Tri-County Aero Radio Control Club will provide a static exhibit of dozens of flyable scale replicas of WWII aircraft. WWII aircraft fly-over expected at various times during the event. Food and refreshment vendors will also be present. In conjunction to this event, a USO Show, "Stage Door Canteen" will be held on Saturday, September 12 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at the Fort Nightly Club. Donations are accepted for the show and period dress is appreciated, but not required.
