"Knox County Chainsaw Carving Festival" - Knox County Fairgrounds, Bicknell, Indiana

When: 9/25/2009 to 9/26/2009 8:30AM to 7:30PM

The "Knox County Chain Saw Carving Festival" will be held on the Knox County Fairgrounds, Hwy. 67, Bicknell beginning on Friday, September 25 and running through Sunday, September 27. This event is FREE and open to the public and will include artisan chainsaw carving and an auction on Sunday. The public is invited to share in this exciting demonstration of the art and take advantage of the opportunity to collect sculptures from carvers all over the world! A demolition derby is scheduled for Saturday at 7:00pm, an admission fee will be charged for the derby. On Sunday an auction to be held at 2:00pm. Food and drink vendors will be on site, with access to the public restrooms. This will be a great family weekend and we hope you can make it out to the first Knox County Chainsaw Carving Festival at the Knox County fairgrouds in Bicknell! Volunteer Recruitment Fair - George Rogers Clark NHP

George Rogers Clark National Historical Park is hosting a Volunteer Recruitment Fair on Saturday, September 26 from 12:00pm - 4:00pm (EST) at the Park Visitor Center, 401 S. Second Street, Vincennes. This event is free and is being organized for residents of our city and county to share in preserving our community's story and relating it to interested visitors. Representatives from George Rogers Clark NHP, Vincennes State Historic Sites, Grouseland, Old French House & Indian Museum, "Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous" and "Muster on the Wabash" will be on site to discuss the opportunities to become involved in our historical events and sites. Volunteers may operate visitor centers, actively engage visitors from around the world, wear period correct clothing to portray life in Vincennes over many different time periods and more! There will also be a 45' sneak preview of the Ken Burns' series, The National Parks: America's Best Idea. Viewings are scheduled for 1:00pm and 3:30pm.
