"Oceans and Myths" exhibit - Shircliff Gallery of Art, V.U. Campus

"Oceans and Myths" an exhibition of works by artists Valerie Eickmeier and Philip Lamie, will open at Shircliff Gallery of Art on Tuesday, January 10 and continue through Friday, February 3. Ms. Eickmeier is dean of the herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI, Indianapolis. Mr. Lamie has worked professional as an artist, designer and art educator for more than 20 years. Both will speak about their work in an open forum on February 3 at 11:00am (ET) at the Gallery. Shircliff Gallery of Art is located in the Humanities Building on the Vincennes University campus.
"Storytime" - Knox County Public Library, Vincennes

The Knox County Public Library will kick off the New Year storytime program with the "Evening Stars" on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:00pm and will continue on the following consecutive Tuesdays at that time. "A Fine Romance": Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, 1910 - 1965 will be on exhibit at the Knox County Public Library from Wednesday, January 11 - Friday, February 24. Developed by Nextbook, Inc., a non-profit organization, the exhibit is dedicated to supporting Jewish literature, culture and ideas. "Staying in Step with George" - George Rogers Clark NHP, Vincennes

It was 233 years ago during February of 1779 when Lt. George Rogers Clark and his army of 140 - 150 soldiers captured Ft. Sackville in Vincennes. George Rogers Clark National Historical Park, in partnership with Vincennes University radio station WVUB (91.1) and Vincennes Rivet Middle/High School is offering a special educational public service February 1 - 28. "Staying in Step with George" is a series of daily historical accounts which presents George Rogers Clark's story in two-minute segments. The daily spots will air 7:40am and 11:20am (EST) Monday - Friday. The series may also be heard by logging onto wvubhd.com.
"First Friday" event - "The Open Gallery", Vincennes

Sculptor Larry Melsheimer is presenting a one-man-show at the "The Open Gallery", 329 Main Street this Friday, February 3 between the hours of 6:00pm - 8:00pm (ET). The Northwest Territory Art Guild, 317 Main Street will also be open, decorated for Valentine's Day and the upcoming Festival du Mardi Gras held on February 17 and 18. Come and browse in and out of both galleries!
