"Storytime" - Knox County Public Library, Vincennes

The Knox County Public Library will kick off the New Year storytime program with the "Evening Stars" on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:00pm and will continue on the following consecutive Tuesdays at that time. "A Fine Romance", Exhibit (RESCHEDULED) - Knox Co. Public Library, Vincennes

"A Fine Romance": Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, 1910 - 1965 will be on exhibit at the Knox County Public Library from Wednesday, January 11 - Friday, February 24. Developed by Nextbook, Inc., a non-profit organization, the exhibit is dedicated to supporting Jewish literature, culture and ideas. "Staying in Step with George" - George Rogers Clark NHP, Vincennes

It was 233 years ago during February of 1779 when Lt. George Rogers Clark and his army of 140 - 150 soldiers captured Ft. Sackville in Vincennes. George Rogers Clark National Historical Park, in partnership with Vincennes University radio station WVUB (91.1) and Vincennes Rivet Middle/High School is offering a special educational public service February 1 - 28. "Staying in Step with George" is a series of daily historical accounts which presents George Rogers Clark's story in two-minute segments. The daily spots will air 7:40am and 11:20am (EST) Monday - Friday. The series may also be heard by logging onto wvubhd.com.
iPad, iPhone& iPod Touch Classes - PACE Bldg., Vincennes

Pace Community Action Agency will be offering iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch classes on three Tuesdays in February. Learn tricks, tips and ways to use your "i" devices. It is suggested that you bring your device to class. The cost of each class will be $15 per person. The class schedule is as follows: "Introduction to Using Your Device" held on Tuesday, February 14th from 6:00-8:00 PM. "Getting More Out of Your iOS Applications", February 7th from 2:00-4:00 PM and February 21st from 6:00-8:00 PM. *All times are EST. Classes will be held in Room 203 of the PACE Building, 525 N 4th Street Vincennes. The introductory course will cover topics such as: understanding the settings, syncing your device to iTunes, installing, deleting, sorting apps, password protecting your device, setting up email, and managing applications. "Getting More Out of Your iOS Applications" is a more advanced follow-up class that will cover: in depth review of apps, iCloud, and more detailed applications. The cost of each class will be $15 per person and advance payment is required to enroll. Credit cards are preferred but checks are accepted. (Classes with participation of less than 10 may be rescheduled. Additional classes will be scheduled as needed.) "All Dolled Up", Exhibition of Handmade Dolls - Shircliff Gallery of Art, V.U. Campus

"All Dolled Up", an exhibition of handmade dolls, will open on Thursday, February 9 at Vincennes University's Shircliff Gallery of Art. "All Dolled Up" includes the works of artists Paola Colombo, Jessi Halliday Mesalic, Mimi Kirchner, Jess Quinn, Jennifer Strunge, and Nichol Brinkman who curated the exhibit. The exhibit will continue through Thursday, March 1. The public is invited to a reception with artist and curator Nichol Brinkman in the Gallery on Tuesday, February 21 at 11:00am (EST). Brinkman will speak in an open forum at 2:00pm in Shircliff Auditorium. Gallery hours are 8:00am to 9:00pm, Monday through Thursday; 8:00am to 5:00pm on Fridays; 12:00-3:00pm on Sundays. Shircliff Gallery of Art is located at the corner of First and Harrison streets inside the Shircliff Humanities Center.
