Annual Student Poster Art Show - The Open Gallery, Vincennes

The Open Gallery, 329 Main Street, Vincennes is proud to announce its Second Annual Student Poster Art Exhibition featuring the work of the junior and senior fine arts graphic design student under the director of Professor Pravin Sevak. This year's theme, "Child Abuse Prevention" is part of Professor Sevak's efforts to engage students in timely subjects of relevance in today's culture. A reception in honor of the student artists' work will be held Sunday, April 29 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at The Open Gallery. Food and beverages will be served. The public is invited and welcome to attend the reception. The exhibition will be on display throughout May. Operating hours vary, however The Open Gallery is usually open from 3:00pm - 8:00pm Monday through Thursday and weekend afternoons from 12:00pm - 5:00pm.

Dr. David Nichols, Professor of History (presentation) - George Rogers Clark NHP Visitor Center, Vincennes

The George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in cooperation with the Vincennes Historical and Antiquarian Society invite the public to meet Dr. David Nichols. An Associate Professor of History at Indiana State University, Dr. Nicholas will be giving a presentation at 7:00pm on Thursday, May 17 at the George Rogers Clark NHP Visitor Center (401 S. Second Street). The title of his presentation is 'The Real Americans' Come to Vincennes: Authority and Negotiation in a Bi-racial Frontier Community, 1787 - 1792. A reception will be held at 6:00pm. After the talk, he will be available to sign his book, "Red Gentlemen & White Savages" which is for sale at the GRC NHP Visitor Center.
